San Jose (Santa Clara County)

The organizer of the Parlor, Miss Tillie Brohaska, played the piano in the Brohaska Orchestra at the Vendome Hotel. In the 1890’s and early 1900s, the hotel was San Jose’s leading hotel. When the Parlor was organized the hotel manager allowed the ladies to meet at the hotel, and in appreciation, the Parlor was named Vendome. This building is no longer in existence. The hotel is pictured on the Parlor seal.
