Instituted December 18, 1912
Modesto (Stanislaus County)

The name Morada was taken from a Spanish word meaning “adobe” or “home.”

The seal depicts the Modesto slogan, which is in the center of town on the town arch, with the words “Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health.” The La Grange Dam, thirty miles east of Modesto, on the Tuolumne River, which reverse water for the area, is in the background.

Morada Parlor is probably the only Parlor whose name is mis-spelled on the seal. The seal reads “Modada” instead of Morada.
