Instituted June 9, 1887

Placerville (El Dorado County)

Early in June 1887 a group of Placerville ladies met at the Ohio House and organized Marguerite Parlor. It was named in honor of Mrs. E.B. Crocker, the wife of Judge Crocker, early counsel for the Central Pacific Railroad.

Among Mrs. Crocker’s many gifts to Sacramento was the Marguerite Home for homeless aged women, dedicated February 25, 1884.

The Parlor seal shows a flower spray of marguerites and, to the right, the overlapped letters PDFA inscribed in mystic lettering.
