The Parlor was named after the Donner Party which made camp at Donner Lake. One of the charter members and organizer of the Parlor, Susan Wilder Alexson, was a descendant of the Donner Party members. It was in her honor that they named the Parlor. The seal of the Parlor is a view of Donner Lake.
