SOCIAL BUTTERFLY AWARD

A recognition designed to celebrate Parlors that excel in crafting social media campaigns that promote membership, California history, community service, and a positive online presence for a Parlor and the Order of the Native Daughters of the Golden West.

This award will highlight efforts in the following areas:

 Membership Development

  • Extension of the Order: Highlighting social media posts that feature fraternal activities encouraging new members to join the Native Daughters of the Golden West (N.D.G.W.), such as outings, trips, and tours to historical California landmarks.
  • Membership Retention: Including accolades and individual recognitions, such as service awards given to Parlor Members.
  • Member Support: Promoting wellness and fraternal friendship through initiatives like care packages and well-wishing posts.

History

  • Engaging in educational initiatives focused on significant historical sites, individuals, events, or dates.

Community Service

  • Showcasing the Parlor’s community service projects on social media. Examples include food drives, Christmas toy drives, clothing drives, local cemetery maintenance events, or donations to veteran groups.

Positive Image of Native Daughters of the Golden West

  • Posting images of members in N.D.G.W. wearing California or NDGW attire.
  • Activities such as distributing California Poppies on Poppy Day, providing cake at local community events for Admission Day, singing “I Love You California” at events, marking historic landmarks, or offering educational materials about N.D.G.W. at schools or community gatherings.

We encourage all Parlors to participate in this meaningful recognition. Share your social media posts and contributions that meet the above criteria with the Electronic Communications Committee. Together, we can foster a vibrant and supportive community within our Order.
