Placerita Parlor No. 277

Instituted January 25, 1944

Van Nuys (Los Angeles County)

The name Placerita comes from Placerita Canyon, where gold was first discovered in California 1842, under "The Oak of the Golden Dream," a landmark near San Fernando Valley.

The seal depicting the San Fernando Mission was chosen because of the nearness of the mission to the Parlor.
